The Brewery

THE YUKON BREWING BREWERY STORE

Yukon Brewing is open 7 DAYS A WEEK from 11am to 6pm
We are closed major holidays, including (for 2013):
- New Years Day, January 1, 2013
- Good Friday, March 29, 2013
- Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013
- Victoria Day, May 20, 2013
- Canada Day, July 1, 2013
- Discovery Day, August 19, 2013 (WE WILL BE OPEN TO SERVE YOU ON DISCOVERY DAY, BUT WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OFFER ANY TOURS)
- Labour Day, September 2, 2013
- Thanksgiving, October 14, 2013
- Remembrance Day, November 11, 2013
- and of course, Christmas and Boxing Day, 2013

We have our full line of beers available in our store, and we have some products that are only available in our store.  These include 12 and 24 packs of canned beer, mix/match single bottles of beer, and our famous Growler System. A Growler is a 1.9 litre container that you buy and own, and bring back to the brewery for refilling. Because we don’t need to sell you cartons and labels and so forth, beer costs less in a Growler…about 6 fills and you have saved enough to pay for the Growler. And, there are almost always beers on the Growler system that are not available anywhere else, including bottles or cans. That is because we just brew it, keg it, and serve it…no need for new labels or cartons.

And, of course, we have shirts, hats, glassware, etc. as well.

Brewery Tours

Between Labour Day and Victoria Day, we offer one tour a day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 4pm and Friday and Saturday at 2pm - no tours on Sunday.  During the summer (between Victoria Day and Labour Day, in case you did not already figure that out), we offer 3 tours per day, 7 days a week, at noon, 2pm, and 4pm.  We have a cap of 10 people per tour so that we can do a proper job. We will take phone bookings, but only for the current day and the next day.

The tour will take you and your friends through the entire brewery explaining the brewing, fermentation, filtering and packaging components of making our beer and then we’ll run you through samples of our work. The whole thing take about 30 or 40 minutes, longer if you’re chatty!

We charge $5.00 per person for our tours, and all proceeds – 100% of them – go to local charities.

*** FOR GROUPS LARGER THAN 10, PLEASE CALL IN ADVANCE 867-668-4183 – WE WILL TRY TO ACCOMMODATE YOU, IF WE CAN***

  1. I am coming tomorrow, and BOY AM I EXCITED!!!

  2. Can you purchase beer after the tour? do you have a store in Whitehorse? We are traveling with our kids…6yr olds. Can they come? (they are pretty beer saving and have toured breweries throughout Europe)

  3. Please make a gluten free beers or ciders :D

    • Funny you should mention. Our brewers are researching a gluten free beer for the fall. We will devise one and brew it, if it is good it will be on the growler system. If it is really, really good, who knows, it may make it out there as a bottled brand. Stay tuned.

  4. Bud vs. Yukon Gold
I was traveling this past August in Alaska and Yukon and tried new beers. WOW there was three of them I loved from this company. Can it be purchased in Florida?

    • Short answer is no. We are sold only in western Canada. Shipping beer great long distances is not great for the beer and not great for the final price on the beer. The cost in Florida, by the time all that freight is paid, would not be good. And, having 7000 km of travel wear and tear would not be good either. Sorry about that!

  5. “If it is really, really good, who knows, it may make it out there as a bottled brand.”

Hasn’t worked for Grizzly, which I for one feel is really good!

    • Thanks for the feedback, we agree that Grizzly is pretty darn tasty. Managing packaged brands is definitely a challenge – we have 8 full time ones now. Thanks to our growler system, we can try new beers and make them available, but only so many can be in full time packages.

  6. Just am having some ADD. My new favourite beer. The flavour profile is unexplainable.

  7. I hope that your company will be bringing back the Raspberry Ale soon. Thought it was one of the best beers that was offered from your outlet store. The only issue was the name; great beer not a good name to go with it.

    • Thanks for the comments. Seems feelings were strong about the name, about an equal split between like and dislike. However, we will say this…not too many people did not notice it.

  8. Happy Spring!!! We’ll see you in early May. Can someone in a wheelchair do your tour? Peace.

  9. Wondering if I can order any beer to Ontario ?

    • Beer can be ordered in to any Canadian province, but it has to be done through the provincial liquor board (in Ontario, the LCBO). Problem is, unless you are ordering a pallet, the freight cost will result in a retail price that will shock you. The system really only works when you are shipping large quantities. But, the simple answer is yes, you can special order, contact your favourite LCBO for the details.
