Discovery Beer Dinner a Huge Success

Sometimes events take a couple runs through to get the kinks out. The Discovery Beer Dinner was not one of those events.

The event held at the Westmark Hotel Whitehorse was an event of good fun, excellent food, great beer and worthwhile charity.

The Westmark’s Executive Chef Lisa Williams and her Sous-Chef Ashley Wilke went above and beyond our wildest expectations in creating by creating eight superb courses in which one of our Yukon brews was a key ingredient to each. The dishes were then subsequently paired with that beer to create treat after treat for the guests’ palettes.

The evening also boasted a hotly contested silent auction from which all winning bids went to support the Yukon Humane Society. Thanks to the great donations from the Yukon Brewing Company, the Westmark Whitehorse, Triple J’s Music Café and our wonderful Member of Parliament Larry Bagnell, the auction raised over $1200 for the Humane Society and the Mae Bachur Animal Shelter.

In the end, the serving staff did a tremendous job putting the finishing touches on a truly great event and each guest got to take home a souvenir recipe book of all the courses they had just consumed.

Surely, more dinners like the Discovery Beer Dinner are in the brewery’s future.
